Another 10 employees of the Wake County Public School System will lose their jobs effective Dec. 2, the school board announced Tuesday.

All of the jobs being cut are related to school construction. As the district delays or cancels building projects due to lack of funds, it is cutting the people who would work on those projects.

This is the second of three waves of layoffs for the Wake schools. In June, 22 employees were laid off, and Superintendent Del Burns imposed a hiring freeze on teachers in grades 6 through 12.

There will be a third round of layoffs in early 2010, Burns said.
