Wake Forest Priest Dies

Father John Parrish, pastor of Saint Catherine of Sienna in Wake Forest, passed away overnight Monday.

Parrish, 49, died in his sleep at his home, church officials said.

A Mass for the Roman Catholic priest was celebrated at St. Catherine's Tuesday evening.

Parrish will lie in state 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the church, with a wake scheduled for 7 p.m., said church officials.

His funeral is tentatively set for 10 a.m. Friday, with Monsignor Tim O'Connor officiating.
