The Wake County Animal Center is reducing its adoption fee for Valentine's Day week.

Between Saturday, Feb. 11, and Friday, Feb. 17, adoption fees for dogs older than six months will be $25. Cats will be name-your-price.

According to Wake County, there are currently 72 dogs and 11 cats in the shelter in need of homes. Another 23 are being cared for by fosters and are also in need of adoption.

Dogs and cats adopted from the shelter come with updated vaccinations and are spayed/neutered and microchipped.

You can find a gallery of adoptable animals online.

The shelter is located at 820 Beacon Lake Drive. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

No appointment is needed.
