Vance County man charged with school bus battery theft

The Vance County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of stealing batteries from school buses.

The sheriff's office responded on Nov. 27 to a report regarding the theft of batteries from school buses at Vance County Middle School and Vance County High School. Additional reports were received from the Vance County School Bus Garage about batteries being stolen from other buses.

Following an investigation, Ethan Cole Fleming, 21, was arrested and charged Wednesday with the battery thefts.

He was being held under a $10,000 secured bond on Friday morning.
