UNC's new student convocation postponed to Monday

With the threat of thunderstorms in the area on Sunday afternoon, the new student convocation at UNC-Chapel Hill has been postponed.

The new date for convocation is Monday at 7 p.m. in Kenan Stadium.

A statement on the UNC website read: "The weather forecast predicts rain and thunderstorms throughout the day, especially in the window before and during convocation, which poses challenges to safely setting up and holding the event."

FallFest, which had several outdoor activities and was scheduled for Sunday night, has been canceled. UNC said it will try to move as many Fallfest activities as possible to later in the month.
