A $20 ticket turned into more than $200,000 for two Selma residents.

Darrell Wessinger and Deborah Singletary purchased the ticket at the Kangaroo Express on U.S. Highway 301 South in Wilson.

Both chose to receive a lump sum payment, and after state and federal taxes, each will receive $207,753, lottery officials said.

Wessinger and Singletary are the latest to win $1 million playing the North Carolina Education Lottery’s $4 million Multiplier Spectacular Game.

As of Thursday morning, two $4 million prizes and four $1 million prizes have yet to be claimed.
