Two SC security guards accused of trying to poison supervisor

Hunter Howard, 30, and Andrew Doty, 47, were arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office for malicious tampering with a human drug product or food. The two men allegedly put eye drops in the personal coffeemaker of their security supervisor.

Two Hilton Head, South Carolina, security guards are facing criminal charges for allegedly trying to poison their supervisor at the Sea Pines community.

Hunter Howard, 30, and Andrew Doty, 47, were arrested by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office for malicious tampering with a human drug product or food. The two men allegedly put eye drops in the personal coffeemaker of their security supervisor.

Another employee was able to stop the man before he drank any of the coffee.

The charge is a felony, and Howard and Doty could face up to 20 years in prison. The two men were released on $5,000 personal recognizance bonds.

This is not just a prank -- a Rock Hill, South Carolina, woman was sentenced to 25 years in jail in 2020 for putting eye drops n her husband's drink. The man later died.
