Crews responded to a serious crash early Memorial Day morning, closing down a ramp and lane on US-1 southbound in Cary by Tryon Road.

Police say their early investigation indicates the driver, 23-year-old Hannah Eubanks, was speeding when she hydroplaned on the wet roadway and lost control of the vehicle. The red Jeep Renegade flew off the slick roadway and crashed into the trees around 5 a.m.
