Two people seriously injured after being shot in Lumberton Saturday

Both victims suffered serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Two people are seriously injured after being shot in Lumberton on Saturday.

The Lumberton Police Department say they were dispatched at 4:12 p.m. to a report of a person shot at the intersection of Gavintown Road and Elizabethtown Road. On arrival officers found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims are 21 year old Zaire Amir Brown of Rock Hill, South Carolina and a juvenile of Lumberton.

The victims, who were the only occupants in a blue Acura, were traveling on Gavintown Road when police say they approached the intersection with Elizabethtown Road behind what appeared to be a gold or champagne colored car. Police say that's when an altercation occurred between occupants from both vehicles and gunshots are fired. The suspect vehicle sped away.

Both victims suffered serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
