Two people are in custody after a fight led to a shooting in the parking lot of a walk-in clinic, according to Henderson police.

It happened Wednesday in the parking lot of Vance Family Medicine at 381 Ruin Creek Road.

A news release from Henderson Police Chief Marcus Barrow stated two people, Anthony Meadows, 22, and Ransom Hawkins got into a fight in the parking lot of Vance Family Medicine. During the fight, Meadows got a gun from his vehicle and fired it at Hawkins. No one was hurt due to the shooting, police said.

However, both people had "abrasions and contusions sustained during the fight," Barrow wrote in the release.

The scene was clear by the time WRAL News arrived on Wednesday afternoon.

"Vance Family Medicine is closed for the remainder of the day for [a] police investigation," a sign read posted outside the clinic. "We apologize for any [inconvenience]."

Broadcastify 911 audio stated someone was hospitalized.

"He was coming out of the hospital and two male subjects were trying to fight him," the audio states. "He tried to get to his car to get his gun."

Both Meadows and Hawkins are in custody of Henderson police.

Officers recovered the gun fired.

Police charged Meadows with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon in the city limits, property damage and affray. He is currently under $53,000 bond.

Hawkins was charged with assault and affray.
