Two officers taken to hospital after chase ends with crash in Wayne County

Mount Olive Police officers were doing a license check point at N.C. Highway 55 and Country Club Road when a juvenile pulled up without a license and sped off.

The juvenile told officers he had a license elsewhere then sped away suddenly, according to Chief Jason Hughes.

The pursuit ended just past Country Club Road and West Main Street. Hughes said one police car collided with the suspect's pickup truck in a field, and another police car slid into ditch.
