Two injured in possible Raleigh road race

Preliminary reports indicated two cars were racing on northbound New Hope Road. One of the cars clipped a Kia Sportage and caused it to spin and hit another car in the southbound lane.

Two people with minor injuries were transported to a nearby hospital Saturday evening after a wreck on New Hope Road, police said.

Preliminary reports indicated two cars were racing on northbound New Hope Road. One of the cars clipped a Kia Sportage and caused it to spin and hit another car in the southbound lane.

The Kia driver and a person in the vehicle hit in the southbound lane were injured.

The original two vehicles were not at the scene when police arrived. Police are still searching for the vehicle that clipped the Kia.

No charges have been filed.
