Two arrested for kidnap, robbery outside Fayetteville Wal-Mart

Fayetteville on Thursday police arrested two women for a robbery that began in the parking lot of the Ramsey Street Wal-Mart.

According to police, three women approached Ann Marie Copelin, 60, at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 12. The suspects forced Copelin into her car at gunpoint and made her drive to an automatic teller machine, where she withdrew $500 from her account. The suspects then forced Copelin to drive to another location. They fled the scene on foot, taking Copelin's cash, jewelry and GPS.

Pekitshia Campbell, 29, and Kawana Brown, 25, both of the 5100 block of Chesapeake Road, were charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Each was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.

Police were looking for a third suspect and urged anyone with information to call Fayetteville Police at 910-433-1896 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
