Tropicana is facing backlash for an advertisement some people think encourages drinking as a way to deal with stress.

A Tropicana tweet earlier this month showed a mini refrigerator stocked with orange juice and champagne and read:

Parents, you’re juggling it all! Find the ultimate moment of brightness for yourself – wherever and whenever – with a Tropicana mimosa, of course! #TakeAMimoment to help make your mornings a little brighter. #Tropicana

Some people liked the ad, while many others reached out to Tropicana to complain that it encourages alcohol use, especially during the pandemic.

"Nothing wrong with the gif-like picture, but the comment was a little much, considering it does seem to be suggesting coping with alcohol during stressful times," one comment read.

Tropicana responded with multiple statements, including a Facebook post that read, "We want to apologize to anyone who is disappointed in or offended by our recent campaign. The intent behind it was in no way meant to imply that alcohol is the answer or make light of the struggles of addiction."
