Trooper: 1 dead in pickup truck fire near Fayetteville

A person died early Saturday morning when a pickup truck crashed and caught fire near Fayetteville, officials said.

Authorities were at the scene around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Gainey and Kellys Landing roads where the truck was on fire.

North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said the person was not yet identified.
