Triangle businesses prepare for Super Bowl Sunday crowds
Businesses in the Triangle are getting geared up for Super Bowl LVII this Sunday.
Sunday's big game will feature the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles and businesses like Woody's Sports Tavern and Grill is staffing and stocking up ahead of the game.
Staff at Woody's said they've been preparing all week just for Sunday, as it's a popular spot for Cary locals.
"I'm gonna be right here," said Vance Burres, a customer at Woody's. "Watching on the TV, maybe gambling a bit."
To get through the weekend, Woody's will have extra staff and extra alcohol to help with demand.
"[We're] always really busy," said Sam Kelman, a bartender at Woody's. "[It's] usually packed from top to bottom floor."
Super Bowl Sunday is usually the busiest day of the year for most businesses.
"We have a lot of people that want to have the biggest screen in the neighborhood and that's what we do," said Nathan Morris of Triangle Backyard Cinema.
Triangle Backyard Cinema allows people to rent larger tvs for both indoor and outdoor spaces for large events, like the Super Bowl.
Morris told WRAL News Friday he's completely sold out for the Super Bowl.
The weekend weather, however, will provide some challenges for people trying to have outdoor festivities.
WRAL Weather is anticipating rain to move into the area Saturday night and into Sunday.
While the weather is supposed to clear up by kickoff, it could prevent outdoor setups from being used or being dry when guests arrive.
Most outdoor set ups are now being moved indoors so people can celebrate without worrying about the weather.
“Everyone still wants to get together with your family and they want to watch commercials and be excited together," Morris said. "So this gives everyone an opportunity to see the big screen larger than life experience for the Super Bowl.”
