The state Department of Transportation on Monday will begin a $7 million rehabilitation project of an 18.4-mile stretch of Interstate 95.

Lanes along I-95 from the Robeson County line to Interstate 295/U.S. Highway 13 in Cumberland County will be closed on weeknights, and detours will be posted.

All lanes will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and also on weekends, the DOT said.

Barnhill Contracting Co., of Fayetteville, will work to mill and resurface the interstate to improve road conditions.

Crews are expected to complete the project by November.
