Starting at 11 a.m. on March 11, Pender County tourism will host the Topsail Beach Top secret hike in honor of their celebration for the Year of the Trail.

“This is a free 1-mile, family fun hike,” said Janine Stidley, the Missiles and More Museum director. “The entire path is paved, which makes the Top Secret Hike wheelchair and stroller accessible.”

As a part of the celebration, Pender has partnered with various organizations, including Pender County Parks and Recreation and Pender County Health Department, to host multiple mile-long hikes. Participants can enjoy these family-friends outdoor activities every 30 minutes, with the last hike stepping off from Missiles and More Museum at 2 p.m, from Topsail Beach.

There will be no fees for the hikes, including stops at historic sites from Operation Bumblebee. For the Year of the Trail celebration, Pender County Tourism and partners will have various events, including the Pirates Treasure Hunt hike set for April 29 at Soundside Park.
