Thursday wrap: Senate boosts group homes, Possum Drop

The Senate passed legislation to assist people in group homes and possums seeking to celebrate New Year's Eve.

A Senate committee also approved a bill that would speed the permitting of natural gas wells in North Carolina.

Meanwhile, lawmakers introduced bills to place a moratorium on the issuance of driver's licenses to some illegal immigrants and to require the instruction of cursive writing and multiplication tables.
