Three shot inside Vass home

Three people were shot inside a home near Vass Wednesday night, Moore County deputies said.

The shooting took place at 1316 N.C. Highway 690 shortly after 9 p.m.

Sheriff Neil Godfrey said in a statement issued Thursday morning that a handgun accidentally discharged into a concrete floor.

Two women were treated at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and released, while a man was treated at the scene for minor wounds.

The circumstances around the shooting remain under investigation, Godfrey said, and no arrests have been made.
