Three charged in connection with murder at Rocky Mount hotel

Rocky Mount police arrested three people, charging two of them with murder in connection with the shooting death of Steven Maurice Lloyd, 19, at a hotel early Friday.

Lloyd was found dead at the Executive Inn at 1821 N. Wesleyan Blvd. before dawn.

Kahdeem Na’kie Hinnant, 18, of Rocky Mount, and Tanesha Tarig Hardy, 19, of Raleigh, both face charges of first-degree murder. Garrett Jovante Batchelor, 17, of Rocky Mount, faces a charge of accessory after the fact.

All were being held without bond at Nash County Jail.
