Three arrested in shooting death of 19-year-old in Selma

Three people have been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 19-year-old in Selma on Jan. 4.

Selma police and members of the NC State Bureau of Investigation arrested Kevin Ruiz, 20, Julian Furr, 23, and a 16-year-old juvenile. They have been charged with the murder of Malik Shephard, 19, last Saturday in a neighborhood near West Preston and Green streets.

Selma mom's plea: 'Stop the gun violence'

Tyquan Dublin, 21, was also shot and was seriously injured, police said.

Officials said the investigation is still ongoing at this time. Four Oaks Police and the Johnston County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the case.
