Enloe Magnet High School in Raleigh has extra security on Friday after the discovery of a threat.

The school's principal said someone wrote a disturbing message on a bathroom wall Wednesday.

The threat, written in blue marker, said "Shooting up the school on 9-23-2022," with a heart drawn underneath the message.

It was reported to Wake Schools security officials. A joint investigation between the school security and Raleigh police found the threat not credible. Still, some parents are choosing to keep their students home from school.

"Even if they say it's not credible, the person who wrote it may not do it, but someone else might get the idea after this now," said sophomore Will Modlin.

The school's PTSA President Serena Flood says she's confident that the school investigated the threat thoroughly, but still gave her daughter the choice of whether to go to class on Friday.

"There's always going to be in the back of your mind, was this credible or not?" says Flood.

School system officials say they can't comment on the case.
