The Avett Brothers and Zac Brown Band are among the bands playing this year's Merlefest, a four-day music festival on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro.
The annual festival, which celebrates the memory of musician Eddy Merle Watson, son of American music icon Doc Watson, is scheduled April 27-30.
Other notable performers this year include Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Sam Bush Band, Jerry Douglas, Steep Canyon Rangers, Del McCoury Band, Donnell Leahy, Chatham County Line Electric Holiday, Mandolin Orange and Sierra Hull
