Tickets for Avett Brothers NYE show on sale Friday

Concord natives The Avett Brothers will play a special New Year's Eve show at PNC Arena, the venue announced Tuesday.

Rumors had been swirling last year about the show, and the band mentioned it in a fan club newsletter. The venue and concert promoter, however, remained tightlipped about the show, only officially announcing it Tuesday. 

Fan club members had the chance to get tickets early, but members of the general public can get them starting at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster.com, the PNC Arena Box Office and by phone at 800-745-3000.
