Teen stole vehicle with 6-year-old child in backseat
Ahkean Curry is charged with 1st-degree kidnapping, theft of a motor vehicle, felony larceny, driving while impaired, open container, damage to property and no operator's license.
Police in one eastern Carolina city say a teenager stole a vehicle from a shopping center with a child in the backseat.
Ahkean Curry is charged with the following crimes:
- First-degree kidnapping
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Felony larceny
- Driving while impaired
- Open container
- Damage to property
- No operator’s license
WITN reported that it happened at the Cherry Plaza Shopping Center on East Main Street around 5:15 p.m.
The child was found unharmed after Curry let the 6-year-old out of the vehicle at another location, according to police.
