Take the Kids: NC Jelly Donuts in Mebane
Glazed donuts, apple fritters, chocolate donuts with sprinkles and something cream or jelly-filled. That's how we indulge when we head into NC Jelly Donuts.
The "filled" treats are a bit much for me but I'm the queen of fritters. I let my daughters handle the rest. I haven't heard a complaint from them yet!
It's such a joy to visit places that greet you when you enter and bless you with a smile. It makes you feel welcomed and your presence appreciated. That's how we feel anytime we visit this beloved, family-owned Mebane business. And it's exactly why we keep going back.
NC Jelly Donuts also has a location in Burlington, so there are two ways to enjoy the fresh-baked-daily goodness!
Service is quick. Even if there are other customers, we're always in and out unless we decide to linger. Menu prices are beyond reasonable. Check out the menu page on their website for detailed pricing. You'll find business hours there as well.
The urge to treat ourselves can occur at anytime but I especially enjoy going after school or at week's end. It's the icing on a good day and comfort after a challenging week that makes it even more worthwhile.

I recently did this for my girls by taking them to the Mebane store. Next time we'll visit the NC Jelly Donuts in Burlington. We've never been there so it should be fun.

My dad started this with my daughters a few years ago. He'd pick them up from school on Fridays and make a beeline for donuts and fritters. I could always count on them to get home wearing the biggest smiles & full little bellies.
