Suspect surrenders in Wake Forest shooting

The man charged in connection with a shooting at a Wake Forest townhouse complex Monday afternoon surrendered at the Wake County Detention Center on Christmas Day.
Salyett Lorenzo Brown III, 32, of Wake Forest, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into occupied property and simple assault.
Wake Forest police say he was involved in a fight in the 1400 block of Cimarron Parkway that left a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his foot.
Police quickly identified Brown as the suspect. They have not released the name of the man who was shot or a motive for the shooting.
