A man and woman were shot at a strip club north of Hillsborough Thursday night, Orange County officials said.

The man was shot in the stomach and the woman in the leg at the Platinum Club at 2600 N.C. Highway 86 North, emergency service workers said.

An alert asked area law-enforcement to be on the lookout (BOLO) for a black man driving a dark sedan resembling a Ford Crown Victoria with no hubcaps. Several black and white female passengers were in the car. Officials did not know its license plate number or direction of travel.

The car's occupants were considered armed and dangerous and should be approached with caution.

Hillsborough firefighters and EMS workers tended to the victims. The man was transported to Duke University Hospital, and the woman to UNC Hospitals.

Orange County sheriff's deputies did not immediately have any information about suspects, officials said.
