Investigators have charged a 34-year-old Fayetteville man with the killing of a man on the 400 block of D Street in Spring Lake on Saturday.

Now authorities are asking for the public's help in finding Jerri "Tweet" Davis, who Spring Lake police said should be considered "armed and dangerous."

Davis, of 4228 Fulton Street in Fayetteville, is charged with killing Cary Terell McLean, who died from a single gunshot wound to his upper body, Spring Lake police said. The shooting was related to an earlier argument between McLean and an acquaintance of Davis, police said. McLean was found lying in the front yard of 418 D. Street after being confronted by a large group of people, police said.

"Our investigation has determined that Davis committed the murder along with several other unidentified suspects," Spring Lake police said in a statement.

Davis was identified as a person of interest following the shooting.

Anyone with information about Davis' whereabouts is asked to contact Spring Lake police at (910) 436-0350 or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-TIPS.
