Two students were injured Thursday in a school bus crash at Panther Creek High School in Cary.

Around 7:10 a.m., the Cary Police Department responded to the school at 6770 McCrimmon Parkway.

According to Cary police, the crash occurred in front of Panther Creek High School as school buses were arriving for the start of the school day. One of the buses collided with the rear of the school bus in front of it.

Buses 594 and 1784 were involved, according to an email from the school.

The buses collided at low speed, and two students were injured. One was taken to the hospital as a precaution, and one student was treated at school for a minor injury. Their families have been notified.

"We greatly appreciate the quick response by WCPSS Transportation and emergency medical services," a statement from the school read. "School staff and WCPSS Transportation worked together to help our students at the scene."
