Duke Health partners with community organizations to fight food insecurity

Students from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics raised money – online and in person – on Saturday as part of a food drive to support The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

Students accepted canned goods and monetary donations at a drive-thru event, and took donations on fundraising site JustGiving.

“It was great to get engagement from our community and spread awareness from food insecurity. I’m glad we were able to make such an impact, and am excited for what NCSSM can achieve next year," said student Kishen Anand.

Through 5 p.m., online donations added up to more than $2,500.
