Stroller Strides plans Fit Mama Fest next week

The free event marks the opening of a new workout space at Cary Towne Center and kicks off a week of free Stroller Strides classes across the Triangle.

Stroller Strides of Raleigh will host Fit Mama Fest 2012 at Cary Towne Center on Jan. 18.

The free event for moms of infants to preschoolers includes mommy and me activities; informational talks for mom; and a gathering of mommy and fitness-focused businesses and groups.

The event is 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Jan. 18, at Cary Towne Center, in a space between Dillard's and Claire's. Stroller Strides will be using the space for indoor workouts during the coming months. An evening session for working moms is set for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Jan. 18.

The day includes a free Stroller Strides workout at 9:30 a.m. The workouts, designed for all fitness levels, include moms and their stroller-riding tot. Also part of the day: mommy and me yoga; arts and crafts; educational talks from The Triangle Diaper Company and First Daze and Nightz consultants; and free massages.
