St. Jude Walk/Run of the Triangle aims to end childhood cancer
It's not too late to join the St. Jude Walk/Run of the Triangle this Saturday in Raleigh!
Register online to participate. Check-in begins Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at the North Carolina Highway State Test Track, 380 E. Tryon Ave.
Opening ceremonies will be held at 9:30 a.m., and the race begins at 10 a.m.
The St. Jude Walk/Run raises awareness and funds to beat childhood cancer. Participants can walk or run the 5K, which is just over three miles and features interactive experiences along the way.
This year there is also a virtual option.
WRAL is a Proud Community Partner. WRAL 5 On Your Side consumer reporter Keely Arthur will be the event emcee, and, weather permitting, the WRAL Storm Tracker will be there with free giveaways.
On Wednesday, there were 930 participants in 116 teams signed up for the Triangle run.
There are several ways to participate:
- Start a team, join an already existing team or participate as an individual.
- Download the St. Jude Walk/Run mobile app — available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Collect donations online and spread the word about your fundraising while earning cool St. Jude gear.
