The Board of Trustees of St. Augustine's College in Raleigh approved increased tuition and student fees during their meeting Friday.

The move adds an additional $782.50 per semester to student costs, bringing the annual outlay to $15,689. Room and board will be $6,918.

“In difficult economic times, the increase keeps the college competitive while not overburdening students,” President Dianne Boardley Suber said.

The board also voted to give some money back to students in the form of a $500 per semester book allowance.

The changes take effect for fall 2009.
