Soggy and screaming, fans greet Scotty
Despite the wet weather, spirits were high Monday evening at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh for a homecoming concert by American Idol and country artist Scotty McCreery.
Thirteen-year-olds screamed for McCreery.
"I'm his number one fan ever. I love Scotty so much. To say that I love him is an understatement. I love him more than words can say," gushed a fan who only gave her name as Stephanie.

"Everybody wishes their child had the same values he does," said Debbie Hunt. "It hasn't gone to his head yet, and I hope it doesn't."
They filled Dorton Arena Monday for a sold-out show that lasted about two hours and, fans said, did not disappoint. It was a classic case of teen idol-dom. Fans sang along, and some were even moved to tears.
"He's like genuinely sweet, and he doesn't have to try and girls will like him," said Victoria Blalock.
McCreery will play a second sold-out show Tuesday.
