The driver of a school bus crashed into a building in Alamance County on Thursday morning, sending six students on board to the hospital.

The crash involving an Alamance-Burlington Schools bus occurred on NC 87 near Judge Sharpe Road.

Seven students were injured. Six were taken to UNC Hospital and one was taken to a treatment facility by a parent. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Students on the bus were traveling to B. Everett Elementary School.

Troopers charged the driver, Ronald Farrow, with failure to maintain lane control. Farrow had minor injuries. Officials said Farrow traveled off the road to the right, hit a concrete driveway culvert, and collided with the structure before coming to a stop.

NC 87 near Judge Sharpe Road was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation.
