Single mother of five passes Texas bar exam

Ieshia Champs, a single mother of five, recently announced on Facebook that she passed the Texas state bar exam after her law school graduation photos went viral.

Champs graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University last spring. According to CBS News, she got her bar exam results this week.

She told the Houston Chronicle that she has faced many tragedies in her life. She lost her home to a fire, lost the father of her children to cancer and grew up in foster care.

But none of those challenges stopped her from achieving her goal of becoming an attorney.

The Houston native hopes to open her own practice or become a federal judge, according to the Houston Chronicle.
