Silver Alert issued for missing Raleigh man

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert early Tuesday for a missing Raleigh man.

Bobby James Woodlief, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, was last seen at a group home at 3699 New Bern Ave.

The 21-year-old white man is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has short blond hair and blue eyes.

Woodlief was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information on Woodlief's whereabouts should call Officer D. L. Ide at the Raleigh Police Department at 919-829-1911.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system that quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
