Silver Alert issued for Fayetteville woman

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Fayetteville woman.

Joanne Monk, 70, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Monk is described as a black woman, 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds. She has short, black and gray hair and brown eyes.

Monk was last seen on Tuesday night in the area of Devonwood subdivision. She was wearing blue jeans or sweatpants, sneakers and a gray jacket. She was carrying a burgundy purse and a white plastic bag. 

Anyone with information about Monk's whereabouts should call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1885.
