The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Monday for a missing Cary man.

Jeremy Brendan Cid, 32, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Cid is described as a white man standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes with a tribal tattoo on his right shoulder and right forearm. He also has tattoos on his left arm.

He was last seen at a home on Murray Glen Drive and is believed to be driving a blue 2008 Jeep Wrangler with North Carolina license plate number YPA-9066.

Anyone with information about Cid should call the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
