Authorities issued a Silver Alert for Raven Janique Davis, 16, who went missing from the Abundance of Love Children's Home in Wilson on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009.

Authorities have canceled a Silver Alert for a teenager who went missing from a group home in Wilson Saturday.

The alert was issued earlier Saturday for 16-year-old Raven Janique Davis, who suffers from a cognitive impairment. She had last been seen at the Abundance of Love Children's Home, 1712 Parkway St. in Wilson. Authorities said the alert was issued because Raven is in need of medication.

Raven was found safe with friends in Rocky Mount Saturday afternoon, Wilson Police Department officials said.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing, endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
