Siblings killed by father in murder-suicide, Winston-Salem officials say

Two siblings and their father are dead after a murder-suicide, officials with the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) said.

Police said David Lee Housden, 55, shot and killed his daughter, Kaylee Nicole Housden, 16, and his son, Alexander David Housden, 20, and then killed himself. This happened on Tuesday morning, around 3:30 a.m.

Kaylee was a student at Atkins High School and was a member of the color guard, while Alexander was a junior, majoring in Exercise Science with a Biology minor, at Winston-Salem State University.

This marks the 43rd and 44th homicide and the second murder-suicide of 2023 in Winston-Salem.
