A man was taken into custody in a deadly shooting from Saturday night in Fayetteville.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Bryant Thomas King, 34, was shot on the 4200 block of Dudley Road.

King was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies charged Hamzah Abdullah Thompson, 20, of Fayetteville, with first-degree murder. On Monday morning, Rockingham police arrested Thompson, who is currently being held at the Richmond County Detention Center.

Deputies responded to a verbal disturbance call at the scene Saturday night. When they arrived, they found King with a gunshot wound.
