The Shearon Harris nuclear plant will test its sirens in Apex on Saturday morning after a false alarm a day earlier.
Duke Energy said the siren sounded inadvertently on Friday, and officials are trying to figure out why.
The test on Saturday will begin at 10 a.m. and will last for five seconds.
In response to the inadvertent sounding of the emergency siren located in Apex, N.C. yesterday, we are actively working with local officials to determine why it sounded. Therefore, today around 10 a.m., we will test the siren at full volume for five seconds. This is only a test.
