The Sears at Triangle Town Center is closing in October with current markdowns up to 75% off.

According to an employee at the store, this location will close on October 10, 2021.

WRAL Smart Shopper Facebook page reader Jeanne shopped at the Sears at Triangle Town Center on Saturday and shared, "They have the store closing sign outside. Everything must go. Most at 50% off. They have area rugs at 75% off."

We have reached out to the Sears parent company, Transformco, and Triangle Town Center management and have not yet received a response regarding the closing details or the future of this location. As soon as any additional details are available, we'll provide an update.

The store is actually hiring some temporary employees, according to their website. On the job posting, the store closing is also confirmed.

This Sears store was sold to Blue Empire LLC out of Chapel Hill for $5.85 million in early August, according to Triangle Business Journal.

Sears has been closing locations for years including the Sears at Crabtree Valley Mall, which closed in November 2018.
