Scooter driver killed in Holly Springs wreck

A man driving a scooter was killed Thursday night after colliding with an SUV near the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Piney Grove Wilbon Road in Holly Springs, police said. 

Officers responded to the area at about 9:20 p.m.

It wasn't clear what caused the wreck, and authorities have not yet released the man's name. 

No charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
