School bus crashes on NC 42 in Johnston County, students not injured

No students were injured Monday in a school bus crash in Johnston County.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m. on N.C. Highway 42 West near the entrance ramp to I-40 West. The school bus and a car were involved in the crash, which caused minor damage to both vehicles.

Neither driver was injured.

As a result of the crash, four students on the bus were late for their day at Smithfield-Selma High School, but officials said all were uninjured.

The bus was finally able to continue its way to school at about 7:30 a.m.
