Police in SC attempting to identify child, find parents

Authorities in Horry County have located the parents of a lost, then-unidentified child.

According to the Horry County Police Department, the boy was found wandering alone with no adult on Highway 9 near Marlowe Circle in the Longs area (about 30 minutes north of Myrtle Beach, near the North Carolina line) around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The boy's parents were identified around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the boy, approximately 2 to 3 years old, was unable to answer where he lived or who his parents are.

Police said Sunday morning no calls reported a missing child in the area.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Horry County Police Department at 843-915-5350.
