SBI investigating abuse allegation at Franklin day care

The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into allegations of sexual abuse at a day care center in Franklin County, officials said Wednesday.

SBI agents on Tuesday searched Leaps and Bounds Early Learning Center, at 2196 Sledge Road in Louisburg, near Lake Royale.

Officials said the Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Franklin County Department of Social Services called the SBI last week for assistance with the investigation.

No charges have been filed in the case.

The day care center's director said the employee in question volunteered and passed a polygraph test and that the allegations are unsubstantiated.
